No, licensure is not required by any US federal or state governmental entity, statute or rule. There is no legal requirement for licensure of providers of BSFT. “Licensing” is simply a business model used by some organizations. The Family Therapy Training Institute of Miami’s goal is Certification of BSFT to ensure program fidelity, efficacy, and sustainability, and thus does not require licensure.
